Lockdown Restictions Easing Don't Currently Change Dental COVID Protocols
We have recently been working towards adding high capacity extraction to our surgeries, which we can announce is now in place. Adding high capacity commercial air extraction units to all our 3 surgeries has now allowed us to reduce ‘fallow time’ between filling appointments to 20 minutes (from 60 mins)
Having now managed to see & treat all those patients who were ‘suffering’ during lock-down we are now open normal hours and available to see our own patients on a ‘need basis’.
Please phone 864295 for appointments (or email info@eadp.co.uk if non-urgent) as we still have to operate with a locked front door.
From 1st JUNE we will offer a restricted 'Severe Dental Emergency' service as a 1st stage of our phased re-opening
Our PM announces all dentists can open from 8th JUNE if they have PPE & cross infection measures in place https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52838072 Many practices won’t, but we have been working for weeks to be ready and will offer a restricted service from 1st JUNE.
The Prime Ministers mild easing of ‘Lockdown’ on 13th May still does not allow us to offer face to face appointments at the practice. We are still offering phone 07375 875738, e-mail (info@eadp.co.uk) & Facebook messenger advice.
For latest updates see our Facebook page
As advised by NHSE, the BDA, & the CQC we are providing telephone, email & Facebook messaging advice for patients suffering Dental Emergencies only. We are also sourcing home dental emergency kits (Dentanurse) but these are yet to arrive.
NO treatment is currently available until the central Scarborough treatment centre is established
(likely week beginning 7th April)

*** COVID-19 Update- ALL Dentistry Stopped ***
On 25/03/2020 the Chief Dental Officer of England instructed all dentists to cease ALL forms of 'face to face general practice dentistry' until such time as we could obtain PPE (personal protective equipment) such as masks/surgical gowns/face shields that were of the same standard as required by doctors in ICU (Intensive Care Units) due to risks to patients & dentists.
