*** COVID-19 Update- ALL Dentistry Stopped ***
On 25/03/2020 the Chief Dental Officer of England instructed all dentists to cease ALL forms of 'face to face general practice dentistry' until such time as we could obtain PPE (personal protective equipment) such as masks/surgical gowns/face shields that were of the same standard as required by doctors in ICU (Intensive Care Units) due to risks to patients & dentists.
This PPE is in very short supply even for hospital doctors currently so in the interim centralised dental surgeries are to be set up to treat patients with NO COVID-19 symptoms with SEVERE DENTAL EMERGENCIES ONLY.
Scarborough's centralised surgery is in this process currently but is unlikely to be up and running until next week.
Currently this leaves us only able to provide you advice by telephone (8.30am - 12pm) or at other times via email (info@eadp.co.uk) & Facebook messenger.
If you are suffering severe dental pain we are able to issue you prescription antibiotics/pain relief, & are sourcing home use emergency dental kits.
We appreciate this is far from ideal, but our hands are tied for everybody's safety.
As and when the situation changes we will keep you informed.
