On Sunday 10th May 2020 Boris Johnson the UK Prime Minister announced a gentle easing of ‘Lock-down’ which would come into force on Wednesday the 13th May 2020, allowing those who can’t work from home the opportunity to return to work.

Unfortunately that did not include general dentists’ being able to offer face to face appointments.

Currently there has been no change in the Chief Dental Officer’s & CQC’s instructions/restrictions on general dentistry. We anticipate that if the general improvement in the COVID-19 situation continues this may well change in the coming weeks. However we cannot currently guarantee or report anything.

We are currently putting in place additional safety & infection control measures at the practice in anticipation of the restrictions on us being relaxed, including additional air filtration.

Advice emerging on how general dentistry works & looks to you as patients moving forward will mean that there are significant changes that need to be made for all practices to ensure everyone’s safety, both yours & ours.

We are currently still offering phone 07375 875738, e-mail (info@eadp.co.uk) & Facebook messenger advice. If you are suffering severe dental pain we can offer medication to help with this as a first line of treatment. There is now a single ‘Urgent Dental Clinic’ open in Scarborough, BUT this clinic can only offer extraction of a tooth AFTER antibiotic medication has failed to resolve the pain. This clinic is only accessible on referral from us & they cannot offer ANY non severe dental emergency care.
