Please note we are still operating relatively normally but you will be contacted by phone pre-appointment, and if able to attend, you'll be asked to use our hand-gel on entry to our practice.
We are booking extra time between appointments to reduce your contact with others, and we ask you only attend by yourself or with one helper as a sensible precaution to both protect you and others.
Many people together and hands touching common surfaces, are the biggest transmission risk anywhere. So keep washing those hands and keep a social-distance away from others generally too.
As a profession we have been advised to minimise ‘treatments that cause an aerosol’ until further notice.
In practical terms this means we have to avoid the use of high speed drills & ultrasonic scalers for routine fillings/crowns etc and cleaning. As such, treatments will need to be done by alternative means or postponed until such time as we are given the all clear.
These ‘treatments that create aerosols’ will only be able to be done for Emergency/Abscess situations from now on, and under ‘Rubber Dam’ (where teeth are pushed individually through a sheet of non-latex material) to isolate the mouth from where we have to work on the tooth as this minimises any possible viral transmission due to the aerosol.
Best wishes & keep washing those hands!
