The blog has been quiet for a while but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy at the practice!
Another dentist joins the practice
Early in September we welcomed Dr Rose Legg BDS to the practice. She joins us having qualified in Sheffield, worked in general practice in Kirkbymoorside, & then in the hospital service at Hull Royal Infirmary.
Rose joins us on a part time basis two & a half days a week currently, whilst working the rest of the week for the Community Dental Service in Bridlington. She will be treating the vast majority of patients on the NHS, currently covering for Dr Helen Evans (whilst she is on maternity leave).
At this stage Rose is not in a position to take on any new patients as the practice is working at full capacity, however should this change in the future we will let you know.
Air conditioning
It may have escaped your notice (as it's so quiet!) that we have installed air conditioning in 2 of out 3 surgeries for your comfort. We have noticed that since one tree was removed on the boundary with next door, & the other 2 have recently been pruned that we are getting a lot more sunlight and heat in these 2 surgeries.
Our third surgery currently gets more shade but we are going to constantly review the situation next spring/summer with regard to adding a unit in there as well.
This was with the help of a local company A.K. Refrigeration based in Driffield who we would like to thank for their great service, & would like to recommend them wholeheartedly.

Electric toothbrush reviews
And finally
It has come to our attention that the consumer association 'Which' has done some independent testing on the current electric toothbrushes that are available.
Although the usual great models from Oral-B & Phillips Sonicare came out with 'best-buy' status, so did an Asda model that retails for £14, a tenth of the price!
We have yet to try it ourselves & don't know which replacement heads it uses, but if you want to try an electric brush as you are struggling with a manual one, this may be a good place to start.
You can find it HERE on the ASDA website
